Impact Statistics
The Xtenda group, which incorporates MyBucks Mozambique and Xtenda Zambia is very conscious of its social responsibilities towards both its staff and clients and the impact it makes on the environment. Although we are predominately a salary deduction business we understand the unrelenting demand for SME finance. With this in mind and taking into account the importance of collecting the outstanding loan and keeping provision for bad debt low, this results in the Xtenda group being able to offer market related interest rate charges.
Today the Xtenda group prides itself on the fact that the majority of loans advanced are for education; starting or growing a business; acquiring or building a home; furniture & fittings, electrical appliances; purchase a vehicle; agricultural/farming inputs etc – none of which could be purchased without the financial assistance of the Xtenda group. A salary deduction loan should not be seen as consumer lending, but rather allowing our client base to borrow in a sustainable manner, affording them the ability to manage their take home pay to put food on the table and pay for other essentials - giving them the ability to improve their families standard of living and enjoying a better lifestyle.
To date the Xtenda group is proud of the reasons and purpose for which clients take loans, particularly its SME loan accomplishments which reflect a high level of recovery, limiting bad debt, keeping interest rates low, giving management comfort that this is a sustainable business model. In the case of SME loans, the majority of SME’s funded by the Xtenda group are managed by the spouse or other family members of the loan holder. A further achievement that the Xtenda group is particularly proud of, is the fact that in Zambia 30% of the client base are located in rural areas – Mozambique has 34% of its client base in rural areas.

SME loan product
• With the success to date of the introduction of SME finance, to boost funding made available to SME’s and even small corporate companies seeking to generate cashflow, the Xtenda group are implementing supplier chain finance into Mozambique and will commence lending against this financial product on final approval from the Bank of Mozambique
• Supplier Chain Finance (otherwise known as reverse factoring) basically allows the Xtenda group to fund the creditors of a large corporate company, giving the creditor the ability to raise funding against invoices of goods or services delivered in good order to finance working capital requirements such as purchase additional stock, pay staff and other overheads.
• Supplier chain finance is a fully automated digital platform that allows a large corporate company to upload invoices, supported by a signed proof of delivery onto the platform which can then be purchased by the Xtenda group who obtains an electronic confirmation of payment from the large corporate that payment will be made at an exact future date. Against this advice the Xtenda group pays the creditor early and in full.
• Once proof of concept has been proven in Mozambique supplier chain finance will be implemented into Zambia as an additional financial product supporting the financial needs of both SME’s and small corporate companies.
• The financial benefits of supplier chain finance is that SME’s and other users can generate cashflow by utilising the financial strength of the large corporate as security, hence borrowing costs will be market related as payment of invoices is guaranteed.
