Peter Edmonds has extensive microfinance experience in a senior management capacity across a number of African countries. He worked for Barclays/First National Bank for many years before becoming a co-founder of Commercial Union Trade Finance “Cutfin”, selling to ABSA and joining Brait Merchant Bank. He was seconded to African Alliance to assist with the roll out of their microfinance business in Africa. He was later recruited as an executive of Letshego to spearhead their African expansion strategy.
Peter was approached by BancABC Botswana to turn around Microfin Africa Zambia Limited, their Zambian microfinance operation. The strategy was successful, with the company later being reversed into BancABC, Zambia. He was later approached by African Investment Corporation, an Isle of Man registered company to partner with Imara Botswana to purchase the Zambian subsidiary of Letshego Holdings and enter the Zambian financial services market. The company was purchased by DBF Capital Partners and the name was changed to Xtenda Finance Limited (Zambia) which is a subsidiary of Xtenda Financial Holdings Limited, a Mauritius registered company.
